March 27, 2013 Laszlo Zsolnai was teaching a class on Ethics of Systems Thinking in the Critical Thinking course taught by Professor Joanne Ciulla at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, University of Richmond, Virginia, USA. Using a number of case studies from Hungary, Bhutan, and USA he emphasized that systems theory requires to paying equal attention to all the relevant value dimensions of the system, blocking trade-offs among non-substitutable values, and considering the long-term, indirect effects.
