Reforming Business for Ecological and Human Flourishing

Based on its “Planet Positive Entrepreneurship” summer school the Business Ethics Center published a booklet on Reforming Business for Ecological and Human Flourishing in September 2026.

The heat weaves in Europe and elsewhere in 2026 dramatically show the relevance and urgency of the topic. The new reality of the Anthropocene era calls for a radical rethinking of the role of business in society and nature. The currently dominating, extractive, shareholder-value maximizing way of doing business is certainly inadequate in our era. The booklet presents planet positive approaches which focus on human wellbeing creation and ecological regeneration for saving the Earth.

The booklet contains the following papers:

Paul Polman (Former CEO of Unilever & Founder of the Net Positive Movement): From Less Bad to Net Positive

Eleanor O’Higgins (University College Dublin & London School of Economics): Business and Sustainable Development Goals

Paul Shrivastava (Pennsylvania State University & The Club of Rome):  Planet Positive and Peaceful Sustainability Beyond 2030

Laszlo Zsolnai (Corvinus University of Budapest & University of Oxford): The Idea of Planet Positivity

Mike Thompson (Impact Hub London): ESG Governance and Wisdom in Business

Thomas Walker (Concordia University, Montreal): Financing Nature’s Future.

The booklet can be dowloaded from here and is free to share with others.
